A local group's weekend event to raise money for autism awareness is fast approaching.
Runs Through The Park Group (RTTPG) from the town of Riding Mountain has been preparing for its second annual Autism Awareness Weekend for about roughly a month.
RTTPG Co-founder, Frank Pockett says a number of acts have already been confirmed and are ready to go. He added, "All the bands are confirmed, we have a food truck coming out that's all confirmed, the field is pretty much all set up, the poker run is all ready to go so yeah it's coming along pretty good."
RTTPG is teaming up with Parents with Autistic Children Everywhere (PACE) out of Winnipeg to help out with the weekend festivities.
Final numbers raised towards the event are said to be announced Saturday at 5 pm.
