Just some of Alphonsine Koehler's work.

An eclectic Ste Rose artist who is now immersed in mixed media art has about 50 pieces of her work currently on display at the Watson Art Centre.

Alphonsine Koehler says she got inspired into mixed media art because of a pottery class in Dauphin a couple years back.

"I like the texture and you know the stuff that sticks out, I really like that in the pictures. So it progressed from doing pottery clay work to doing the stuff where I just create pictures on mostly MDF."

Koehler adds that her work will be featured there for a month and a half.

"Normally it's one month." she says. "They intended to do some work at the WAC and I think it is delayed until October, so there was this period here in August that was free so I set it up now and it's going to be showing for that long."

There will be an opening reception this Saturday from 1pm-4pm at the Watson Art Centre for the exhibit and for people to meet Koehler..

The exhibit is on display until September 26th.
