It's been more than 130 years since a Dauphin man's grandparents immigrated to Canada from Iceland.

Guy Johnson has visit Iceland twice. The first time, he was 22 and backpacked it. The second time he went with his wife and ended up connecting with 20 family members he didn't know existed.

They went on a program called the Snoy Plus, during which people of Icelandic decent are shown their genealogy and relatives.

Johnson says he feels comfortable in Iceland.

"It is quite amazing how they have the same values as we do."

Johnson planned on heading back to Iceland this year but is unable to go. He's now hoping to go next year.
