A new truck is in use in Gilbert Plains.
The Gilbert Plains Fire Department has received their new Pump 4 fire truck. The new water pumper truck will be replacing the department's old truck of 20 years.
Gilbert Plains Fire Chief, Hilton Kilford says for insurance purposes the decision to get a new truck had to be done. He added, "The new fire truck has a 1,000 gallon capacity with a 1,250 pump on it, that means we can pump 1,250 gallons a minute on it... that covers us for insurance purposes keeping everybody's rate low."
The new fire truck was designed and built by E-One and is currently operational.
