Alcohol is believed to be contributing factors in two different deaths, one involving an off-road vehicle, and the other a pickup truck, over the long weekend.

RCMP say a 51-year-old man from Winnipeg was discovered at a property in the RM of Gimli under an overturned off-road vehicle around 9:30 Sunday morning. The man's body was found 150 metres away from the property in a gully.

Then around 6pm that same day Lac du Bonnet RCMP responded to a medical distress on Sunlee Road in the RM of Alexander, where two men had fallen off the sides of the box of a pickup truck.

A 29-year-old male from the RM of Springfield was pronounced dead at the scene. The other male, 27 from Winnipeg, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver, a 26-year-old female from Winnipeg, is being investigated for impaired driving.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in both cases and investigations are still underway.
