Riding Mountain National Park continues to focus on the protection of its natural habitat.

In a recent report released earlier this week, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) challenged Parks Canada's initiatives towards funding for ecological conservation.

However, Steve Langston who is the Director of the RMNP Film Festival feels Parks Canada is doing the right thing towards sustaining the parks natural appeal. He added, "I think there's always going to be wants and needs to really increase commitment to conservation...look at what there doing with zebra mussels in Wasagaming and other lakes in the park, to me that's a big commitment."

The National Director of Parks at CPAWS, Alison Woodley says although Parks Canada continues to invest in conservation more needs to be done.
