A long time Dauphin resident who now resides in Gilbert Plains is being given a special opportunity.
Garnet Maynard, a Second World War Air Force veteran, will be giving the official salute to the ride commander at today's RCMP Musical Ride.
Maynard says this is a real honour.
"It's a real pleasure and a privilege I think for me to do this. And I want to thank the people who did it for me."
Maynard was also past president of the Dauphin Ag Society from 1964-1967.
