Today Swan River RCMP hosted a youth academy encouraging young people interested in pursuing policing as a career.
Constable Matthieu Dufresne of the Swan River RCMP said he was inspired by the idea from his staff sargeant who had previously done a similar initiative prior.
The academy had six sessions roughly one hour each teaching youth about the roles and responsibilities of the RCMP here in Manitoba. Dufresne added the event was a huge success and plans to continue the program next year.
