In an effort to take part in a national campaign that motivates youth to get out and be active, a man from Grandview will be biking across Canada.
Jordan Morin has joined the Unleash your Potential team, a Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College student-run initiative where they will be stopping  at schools and visiting children's programs in hopes to empower youth.

Morin says he got the idea to be part of this initiative after watching a video of it in class.

"It seemed like a really cool adventure first of all, but the second thing too is that you get to help youth across the country to get more active which is a plus as well. So, it was kind of a double wammy for me anyway."

Morin says right now him and his partner are just in training mode for the big trek, which starts in June of 2017.

"Right now it's a lot of biking that's for sure. We're on somewhat of a training program and along with training is raising more money because it does have some expenses that go along with it. So basically just training and fundraising at the moment.

Morin and his partner Jared are also raising money to help cover the costs of the trip, which was estimated at $15,000.

"We are starting in Vancouver and heading all the way to Halifax or Newfoundland we are not one hundred per cent sure yet. So, expenses for travelling there, we have to purchase our own tour bus and our food and any possible hotel if we don't have a place to stay." says Morin.

They are accepting donations and sponsorships.

They will be having a T-shirt fundraiser in the future to help with expenses.
