Both the Roblin and Gilbert Plains Municipalities have issued fire bans for their municipalities.

In Roblin, the ban goes into effect as of 8 am Thursday, as all existing burn permits will be cancelled, with the ban also including fireworks.

You can still use fully enclosed fire pits, but only between 8 pm and 8 am, as well as gas appliances.

In Gilbert Plains, you are also only allowed to burn in fully enclosed fire pits.

Meanwhile, a fire ban has also been put in place for Riding Mountain National Park.

All bans are in place due to the current extreme dry conditions and will not be lifted until sufficient precipitation takes place.
