The City of Dauphin and Mountainview School Division is reminding motorists of the penalties associated with parking illegally in school zones.
Fines of up to $100 can be enforced for offences such as parking in a bus lane, parking in the wrong direction, parking within 1 metre of a driveway or 3 metres from a fire hydrant, and blocking a driveway or lane while parking.
They say vehicles that park illegally during school hours can create a serious safety hazard for children, adding we all play a part in ensuring our school zones are safe for everyone.
