This afternoon a semi that was pulling gasoline and diesel collided with a car on the corner of 2nd Avenue & Main Street North.

Emergency crews discovered upon arrival was that the car was trying to make a right hand turn while the semi was also turning right, which resulted in the car ripping off the valves of the semi trailer and getting stuck between the curb and the trailer.

Approximately 15 gallons of gasoline spilled. Firefighters were able to contain the fuel before it reached the storm sewers and cleaned up the spill.

Again, no one was hurt.

Fire Chief, Cam Abrey says, they want to remind drivers that large trucks require a wide turning radius, so please watch for turn signals and be aware of your surroundings.

Everything is all cleaned up and roads are now open.
