Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa MP Dan Mazier, Who Proposed Bill C-288

A bill that will provide clarity on internet speeds has passed the Senate and will become law.

Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa MP Dan Mazier created Bill C-288 and fought for over 2 years to get it into the rulebooks.

"It's a good day for Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa, and all Canadians using the internet."

This bill will force internet service providers to stop using "up-to" speeds, which Mazier compares to paying for up to $50 in gas, but only getting $10 in the tank.

Mazier is proud to have accomplished this feat, as taking a bill through the Senate is a massive undertaking.

"It's pretty surreal actually. You think about, just a farm kid coming out of Justice, Manitoba ends up being an MP that passes legislation for all Canadians, it's really surreal."

Bill C-288 now awaits royal ascension, which Mazier hopes will occur before the summer break.
