Organizers demonstrate some of the orientation activities to members of Mountain View School Division on Monday
Roblin Elementary School wants to get to know next year's kindergarten students.

They are hosting three orientation evenings in April, with interviews and all sorts of interactive activities.

Resource Teacher Jamie Galbraith says doing orientations this way helps everyone feel more comfortable and prepared.

"Lots of them feel their kids are better prepared after they come to these evenings. Lots of them feel reassured and calmer about that experience and about the transition into kindergarten."

Roblin Elementary School's orientation evenings take place at the school April 13, 20, and 27.

Invitations will be sent out in the Roblin area, but anyone with kids born in 2011 is welcome to come.
