Ryan Balak will receive the 'One to Watch award which recognizes exceptional achievement and significant contributions in their profession and/or community.

Balak was born and raised in Dauphin, and is currently the Business Development Coordinator with Community Futures Parkland.

According to Balak, he wasn't sure what he wanted to pursue right out of high school.

"I took a year off and worked, and realized that 'wow, I'm going to need some further education." I didn't know what I really wanted to do, so I took Business Admin, figuring it would be pretty general and it is something I could definitely use in the future so that basically had a big deal to do with it."

There will be an Alumni Celebration in Dauphin on April 6th, where the award will be presented.
