The radio and online ads, paid for by the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union, focusing on the protection of public service jobs are scheduled to start running next week.

According to Union President Michelle Gawronsky, the ads are designed to be a reminder.

"This isn't mean't to be an attack on him or his cabinet in any way, shape or form. It's a reminder, the ads are more to remind him what his promises were during his campaign. Manitobans voted for him, they elected him based on the campaign promises he made, and that was to look after public services."

A government spokesman says the province's focus is reform that better project front-line workers and job security, as well as lower taxes for Manitobans.
