Barker School BBQ Fundraiser A Success

Barker Parent Council Chair Person, Nicole Perih says they are still in the fundraising phase for the the first phase for the playground- there are three phases- which will cost them roughly $127,000 and that they were sitting at $35,000 but thanks to today they are sitting at $38,000.

Perih adds all of this wouldn't be possible without the communities support.

"We are very appreciative of all the communities support that we've gotten from everybody in town. It's wonderful to see everybody come out and see that we want these kids to have a playground."

They are still accepting donations.

If you are wanting to make a donation you have to make the cheques out to MVSD and on the "memo" part of the cheque write "Barker Playground" and you will then receive a tax receipt.
