The event will be hosted by the Manitoba 'AAA' Midget Hockey League's Parkland Rangers.

Allan Truman is the Marketing Chair for the Midget West Regional, he says there's actually a Parkland Minor Hockey contest going on right now.

"If you buy a ticket before February 15th (Sunday), you can direct that ticket to one of the eight minor hockey associations of the Parkland because they have a contest going to see who can sell the most tickets and if they do they get a little bit of a bonus of money to their hockey association."

Truman also says corporate sponsorship packages are officially becoming available. He notes people are pushing the event across the Parkland area.

"We've got sellers in Swan River, in Roblin, in Ste.Rose and McCreary. There's going to be ample opportunity for businesses to get involved in this and we think it's going to be a great thing to market your business. The tournament is a Parkland thing, and we wanna remind everyone of that. We're going to be out in full force seeing what we can drum up for sponsorship and we just hope people can do what they can and if they can't then buy some tickets and come out to the games for sure!"

Tickets for the Telus Cup Midget West Regional can be purchased through any minor hockey association across the Parkland for $35 which gets you into the event for the entire weekend. Kids get FREE admission. You can get stubs at Parkland Rangers home games and at Catalyst Credit Union's as well.

Also recently announced is that local product Theo Fleury will be the guest speaker at the event's banquet, we'll have more on that story next week on CKDM.
