After a full week off from game action the Dauphin Kings return to play tonight in the Sher-Wood Division Final. It's the second time in as many years the Kings have been here, but this time they face a team that will likely be very excited to get going. The Virden Oil Capitals are the furthest they have ever been in the playoffs in their two year history and have won four straight coming into this series. Local Skips Ray Baker and Butch Mouck take their teams into day one action at the Mixed Provincial Curling Championship in Altona today. Both groups have two contest. Baker throws the rocks with Bob Sigurdson of West Kildonan and Fort Rouge's Derek Samagalski. Mouck goes up against Thistle's Jared Kolomaya then Fort Rouge's Kevin Brown. Some exciting news Thursday for Parkland hockey fans. The Brandon Wheat Kings and Regina Pats could hit Credit Union Place ice at the end of this month. The Wheat Kings host games three and four of their best of seven opening round playoff series next week at Westman Place, but the WHL club will be forced to play game six away from home due to the annual Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, scheduled for the Keystone Centre from March 31st to April 5th. That means game six of the series (If needed) will be played Monday, March 31st at 7:30pm in Dauphin.

Spring is just around the corner. With that being said the Parkland Rec Complex is hosting their annual Baseball and Soccer Registration night tonight and tomorrow. Sign up takes place in the Credit Union Place lobby from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

It will be a busy night in the NHL with 12 games scheduled, including five Canadian teams in action. The Montreal Canadiens host the Colorado Avalanche, the New York Rangers visit the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs travel to Detroit to take on the Red Wings. Later in the evening, the Calgary Flames welcome the Buffalo Sabres and the Nashville Predators are in Edmonton to play the Oilers.
