If you're looking to play baseball this summer, the Grandview Lakers Senior Team could be the perfect spot for you.
"We're definitely looking for some more players," said Branden Storey, Team Manager & Player. "Anyone can just come out and practice a little bit, and see if they want to play."
The Lakers are a part of the South East Senior Baseball League. The league itself starts on May 14th, but the Lakers won't play their first game until a week later on the 21st.
"We have one of the nicest diamonds in all of the Parkland, and probably one of the nicest in the entire league," said Storey. "Our travel is pretty minimal. The farthest we go is 15 minutes east of Yorkton. It's fairly competitive, but at the same time, it's not super competitive. It's a really fun time, and I encourage anyone who wants to play to sign up."
With beautiful tempaturues on the way right through next week, Branden is optimistic about when the team will first get on the field.
"I'm hoping to get on later this week, or early next week," said Storey.
There will be a small fee to play.
"I'm still working that out with our Rec Director," said Storey. "It depends on how many guys we get out, how much it is to rent diamonds, and just things like that."
