The Dauphin Kings are preparing for the MJHL Showcase which starts up today in Winnipeg, but they won't play their first game until tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 against the Winnipeg Blues.

The Kings are coming off a 4-2 win against the Neepawa Natives yesterday, in which the team moved their record to 3-2 in the past five games.

"Yesterday was a big win," said Interim Head Coach and GM of the Kings, Mitch Giguere. "I liked how we started. I was really happy with the guys, and it's well deserved for them."

The Kings enter the Showcase 12 points back of a playoff spot and have two of a possible eight points against the Blues this season.

"We're going to make sure everyone is on the same page," said Giguere. "We didn't like our last three games against Winnipeg because we held a lead in all of them, but didn't get any points. We have to make sure we play a full 60-minutes."

The Kings then take on the Steinbach Pistons on Wednesday afternoon, also at 3:00.

"We can't even be thinking about that game yet," said Giguere. "We know they're really good, and it will be a really good challenge, but we have to worry about our first game first, and go from there."

The next broadcast on 730CKDM with Darnell Duff is set for this Friday when the Kings head to Neepawa, and puck drop is set for 7:30 with the pregame show set for 7:20.
