It's an "Extravaganza" and if you haven't already, you're running out of time to get your team in to take part in the action. The Dauphin Kings Par 3 Extravaganza is set for August 29 and already registration has heated up.
This year's event will be at the Gilbert Plains Country Club. Check-in will be at 9 a.m. while everyone gets going with a shotgun start at 10.
As of today, only four more teams can enter before registration is capped off.
"To put that into perspective, we're usually four teams away two-to-three weeks away from the tournament," said Christian Laughland, Director of Business Operations. "We're really excited about how things have gone so far and we expect that trend to continue."
The highlight of last year's event was of course the winning team which included Jason Shaw, Jerron Kyle, Mike Sparrow, and James Stoesz. This team also included the shot of the day. Shaw, who used to play for the Kings, picked up a cool $10,000 when he aced the 4th hole at the Dauphin Lake Golf Club.
Laughland has confirmed that there will be CP's on every hole this year and each will be worth $100. There will also be many other prizes up for grabs.
"There's an opportunity for cars to be won, money towards a car, and that type of stuff," added Laughland.
With August 29 being the new date, you could also meet some Dauphin Kings players. The team is anticipating beginning Training Camp on the Labour Day Long Weekend. That means players will be in town and Laughland says they'll be involved in the tournament somehow.
"We're looking into them being spotters out on the golf course and a few other things as well," finished Laughland. "It'll be a really fun event and it's great that the players will be there as well."
