Dauphin's Lacquette is determined to make Team Canada!

Dauphin's Brigette Lacquette has a dream of playing in the Olympics, and that dream may come true as she is currently one of 28 girls who are vying for a spot on the National Women's Hockey Team.

Lacquette and the rest of the team are currently traveling around Alberta taking part in the Esso Series against teams from around Alberta.

"I'm just excited to be here," said Lacquette. "I'm just focused on the task at hand. I'm taking it day by day, and giving it all I have every single day. We'll see how it goes."

Lacquette notes the best part about being part of the team is meeting all the new girls, and playing the sport she loves at an elite level.

As announced two weeks ago, the Women's National Team from Canada will take on the United States National Women's Team on December 5 in Winnipeg, and Lacquette is hoping to be there.

"It's super exciting," said Lacquette. "I've always dreamed of playing in front of the home crowd. I did that in Kamloops but playing in Manitoba, and it being so close to home. I'll have all my family there, so it would be amazing."

Lacquette and the rest of the team continue their exhibition series this evening against Fort Saskatchewan.
