Pistons thump Kings, 7-3

Just days after their best defensive performance of the season, the Dauphin Kings couldn't replicate the performance they had against the Terriers as the Steinbach Pistons came into Credit Union Place and scored early and often in beating the Kings, 7-3.

1st Period

The Kings opened up the scoring just 2:27 into the game as McCullough Park scored his first goal in a Kings jersey.

14 seconds later, the Pistons stormed right back to tie the game at one.

Not two minutes later, the Pistons struck again to take a 2-1 lead, and they added another at the 17:44 mark to take a 3-1 lead.

McCullough Park rebounded for the Kings scoring his second goal of the game as the Kings trimmed the deficit to one goal, and that's where it sat after 20 minutes, the Pistons 3, the Kings 2.

2nd Period

Brendan Arnold tied the game at three just 4:40 into the second period, but from there it was all Pistons.

They scored four goals in the final 14 minutes of the period, including two in the last 43 seconds of the second frame.

After 40, the Pistons led it 7-3.

3rd Period

No goals were scored in the third period as the Pistons improved their record to 5-1 on the season, while the Kings dropped to 1-6.

Game Facts

The Pistons out shot the Kings, 25-17 in the game.

The Kings hit the road again on Sunday afternoon as they take on the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Tuesday's game in Swan River will be broadcasted on 730CKDM. The pregame show is set for 7:20 with Darnell Duff.
