Manitoba caps off Canada Summer Games with gold!

The Canada Summer Games have wrapped up for Manitoba, and Saturday was a good day for the province.

Women's Volleyball

The Manitoba women's volleyball team is perfect. They cruised to a gold medal on Saturday evening in Winnipeg, beating Alberta 28-30, 25-22, 25-20, 25-15.

With the win, the team won all seven games they played in the tournament. 

Men's Soccer

The Manitoba men's soccer team fell short once again, against team Quebec. In the round robin, the team's tied their match, but Quebec had a better goal differential which gave them the top spot in the group.

Now, in the bronze medal match, team Quebec capped off their CSG by beating Manitoba, 2-1.

Women's Softball

The Manitoba women's softball team capped off their CSG with a 5-0 win over Quebec on Saturday.

More

Overall, Manitoba finished with 42 medals at this year's games. (10 G, 15 S, 17 B). Manitoba's previous record was 35 in 2013.

The next Canada Summer Games will be hosted in the Niagra Region.

The Canadian Rugby Championships didn't start off well for the Prairie Blizzard U18 women's team, but Friday was as grand as it gets, as the team beat Quebec, 26-21 to record it's first win in program history out of three programs, (U19 boys), (U18 boys), U18 girls).
