Bombers improve to 2-1

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers entered Thursday night's game against the Toronto Argonauts 11-26 all time at Investors Group Field, and although last night's win doesn't change the fact they have been poor at home, a win is a win, and moved them to 2-1 on the year.

Most fans didn't even get to their seats before the Bombers got on the scoreboard. Off the opening kickoff, Ryan Lankford returned the kick all the way to the house, showing his athleticism while doing so. Lankford's kick return was the first kickoff return to begin a game since 2010 when Marcus Thigpen achieved the feat.

Not much later, Lirim Hajrullahu got the Argonauts on the board with a 34 yard field goal as the team cut the deficit to 7-3. Then it was showtime once again, this time for the Argos. Martese Jackson picked up the punt from Justin Medlock and took it back 78 yards, and after Hajrullahu converted the extra point, the Argos took a 10-7 lead and that's where it ended after the first quarter.

After a 13-12 second quarter, the Argos took a 23-19 lead into halftime. In the second half, it was for the most part all Bombers as they shutdown the Argos, and put up 13 points of their own while giving up just three. In the end, the Bombers earned a 33-25 win for their second of the year, and Andrew Harris picked up two touchdowns.

Neither quarterback were sharp on the night, with Ricky Ray topping out at just over 58 percent, while Nichols was just over 55 percent, but the Bombers will take it as they go into a tough battle next week against the Lions.
