Neepawa's Hanke Moving on: Curling Recap

Neepawa's Darla Hanke will be the only Parkland team moving on at the Travelers Curling Club Provincials, taking place at the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club in Winnipeg.

 

Hanke finished the round robin a perfect 5-0, including a 4-3 win over Marlene Lang in the Saturday morning draw and a 6-5 win over Liza Park in the 3 o'clock draw.

Hanke will play Stacey Fordyce in the semi finals at 2 o'clock.

Also in Women's action, Dauphin's Kim Merasty dropped a pair of games on Saturday, knocking her out of contention.

Merasty started the day with aloss to Stacey Fordyce 7-5, and then dropped a 9-3 decision to Cristine Gundrum. Merasty finishes with a 2-3 record.

 

On the Men's side, Grant Babcock fom Neepawa finished his bonspiel with a convincing 8-1 win over Scott Barth in the 6 o'clock draw. However, partly due to a loss earlier in the day to Dave Boehmer, Babcock finishes with a 2-3 round robin reecord.

Gilbert Plains team skipped by Kyle Forsyth did pick up a win in the 6 o'clock draw over Dean North , 5-3. The team finishes with a 1-4 record.
