The Dauphin RCMP responded along with the fire department according to Staff Sergeant Nolan Suss.

“Yesterday on September 7th, at 1:52 in the morning we received a call from 911 who had got a call from a local resident who noticed a fire in the area. Members attended along with the Dauphin Fire Department and noticed the shed was fully engulfed in the rodeo grounds. Drove around the area to try and locate the people who may have been around and shortly there after that at 2:37 we noticed a Ford Focus also on fire in the nearby area and the residents were still in the house, so we evacuated them and the Dauphin Fire Department attended as well and extinguished that. We don’t know whether they’re related, but circumstances would indicate to us they likely are. But the investigations are ongoing."
