Grandmothers Protecting Our Children Walk Scheduled For Next Week

September 21 was chosen as the date for the Annual Grandmothers Protecting Our Children Sacred Walk in Manitoba.

The Committee Advocating for the Removal of Sexual Exploitation along with the Dauphin Friendship Centre are sponsoring the walk.

The event is to take place next Thursday, at 7:00 in the morning with the lighting of the sacred fire and the walk departing from the Dauphin Friendship Centre at 10:00 in the morning.

The goal is to deliver a message to communities all over that children are sacred and that the grandmothers are saying no more abuse against our children.

Grandmothers Protecting Our Children Walk

The 7th annual Grandmothers Protecting Our Children Walk took place today starting at 7:00 this morning with the Lighting of the Sacred Fire and the walk at 10:00 starting at the Dauphin Friendship Centre.

Approximately 30 women and children participated in the walk to raise awareness about abuse and sexual exploitation of children.

The walk is a national event and continues to grow in numbers.
