The Dauphin Clippers hockey team is back in action tonight when they welcome the Sandy Bay Badgers to town. When they do, one of their leaders, Logan Storey will be on the ice as he looks to help the team keep it rolling.

Dauphin leads the North Division at 16-1-1-1 which gives them 34 points, eight more than Swan Valley. In fact, Dauphin has more points than any other team in the Westman High School Hockey League. 

Dauphin has also won six straight games with their last regular-season defeat coming back on December 17.

"It's a lot different this year because we have all new coaches," said Storey. "I was really used to Trevor, but I really like our new coaches, they're all great and they push us to win games."

"We run all of our lines so we're always fresh and we're allowing fewer goals," he added. "They have us playing a solid structure and it's working for us."

The Clippers have also had some success out of league play. Playing in the Victoria Inn Invitational earlier this season, the team finished in third place. They also played a very solid game against the Garden City Fighting Gophers who are one of the top teams in the province.

In another tournament recently, Dauphin played some solid contests, one of which was against River East who at the time was the top-ranked team and have since dropped to #3.

"Knowing that we played that good against some of the top teams in the province, it's definitely a motivation boost for us," continued Storey. "We just have to continue doing that in our own league."

As expected, Logan is having a solid season offensively. He has 12 goals and he's also added 22 assists for a 34 point total. That has him in a tie for eighth in league scoring. He leads Dauphin in scoring while Kayden Bodnar is just one point behind.

"I'm happy with how things are going, I give it my best every shift," said Storey. "I'm just proud to be a Clipper and I'll do whatever it takes to help this team win games."

When the Badgers do come to town tonight, they'll do so as one of the top teams in the league. They lead the East Division by eight points with a record of 15-2. They have only allowed 31 goals which are the second-fewest across the league. They went through the first couple of months of the season without a defeat, however, they have since dropped two of their last four games dating back to January 10.

"I'm not too sure what to expect, but we know they don't allow many goals against," concluded Storey. "We're going to have to be at our best if we want to have success."
