6 Million dollars Will Go To Improve Riding Mountain National Park Historical Sites.

There are a bunch of historic sites close to dauphin.

Thanks to the federal government announcement of a 6 million dollar investment into riding mountain national park, sites like the East Gate National Historic site and the Grey Owl’s cabin are getting million dollar upgrades. MP Robert Sopuck believes part of what makes the park as good as it is, is the history.

“I think it is the facilities, you know, the heritage of the park. You know the east gate and so on; those are very important areas that are historical sites. So I’m really pleased to see that the heritage history of Riding Mountain National Park will be maintained.”

The 6 million dollars isn’t the only money being put into the park. In 2015 almost 9 million dollars was used for ongoing and future projects in the park including protecting the ecological integrity of Clear Lake.
