You Can Get Your Boat Checked For Invasive Aquatic species Today
"2014 we developed the program it’s based off of the Minnesota model it was adopted by the province of Manitoba as well as Riding Mountain National Park. What it consists of if inspections of vessels to see if there are any invasive species on them, as well as decontamination program. So essentially what we are doing is if the vessel has been contaminated with aquatic invasive species were treating them to kill any of those species so they can’t get into waters in the park."
In 2015 Riding Mountain National Park conducted 24,000 inspections and decontaminated 49. In 2016 34,000 inspections were conducted and they decontaminated 149.
