MUSIC NEWS: TUESDAY, MAY 2, 2017 THE LAWSUITS BEGIN AGAINST FYRE FESTIVAL Ja Rule's Fyre Festival that failed to take off in the Bahamas this past weekend has already been hit with a lawsuit. Attorney Mark Geragos has filed a proposed 100-million dollar class-action lawsuit on behalf of client Daniel Jung against Ja Rule and co-organizer Billy McFarland, according to Billboard magazine. The lawsuit accuses Ja Rule and McFarland of fraud and of creating a dangerous situation by bringing festival-goers to an island that failed to provide adequate food, water and shelter. It also says the event was promoted as ``cashless,'' since attendees were encouraged to load funds onto wristbands to use at the festival, so people did not have enough money to buy local services.
