Sting and Ralph were nominated for ``The Empty Chair'' from the documentary ``Jim: The James Foley Story,'' about a freelance journalist beheaded by Islamic State militants. Lin-Manuel Miranda also is nominated, for writing ``How Far I'll Go'' from ``Moana (MWA'-nah).'' Miranda says he's wanted to write a Disney song since he was 9, when he saw Sebastian the crab sing calypso music in ``The Little Mermaid.'' The 20-year-old pop singer from Brampton, Ont., will be the comedy sketch show's musical guest on Feb. 4. Actress Kristen Stewart is booked to host the episode. Cara has left quite a mark on the North American music scene over the past two years. Her debut single ``Here'' climbed into the Top 5 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in early 2016 before she grabbed the Juno Award for breakthrough artist of the year. ``Scars to Your Beautiful,'' her latest single, currently sits at its peak 12th position on the Hot 100 chart. Luky is now heading west to share her new album on the road. --- SAGA - RETIRES Canadian progressive-rock band Saga says the final chapter for the band will be this year. It was the Rolling Stones song ``Heart Of Stone.'' MUSIC NEWS: THURSDAY, JANUARY 19, 2017 ALANIS MORISSETTE'S EX-MANAGER AGREES TO PLEA DEAL A former business manager for Alanis Morissette has agreed to plead guilty to embezzling. Jonathan Todd Schwartz agreed yesterday to plead guilty to two felonies. Prosecutors say Schwartz admitted to taking nearly five-million dollars from the Canadian singer and 1.7-million from two other clients. Schwartz had told Morissette he had invested the money in an illegal marijuana business, but prosecutors say Schwartz admits that's a lie. Morissette sued him but dropped the lawsuit.
