Western Regional Director for Statistics Canada, Lorne Anderson says the reason why that might have happened was because the first access code was sent out on May 2nd and the next thing you were to receive in the mail was a reminder card.

"There could have been an overlap between the computers recognizing that the form has been completed for that house and then the time the card got mailed out."

If you have yet to receive your census, the City of Dauphin says you are to contact MP Robert Sopuck's constituency office. Or, you can call the census toll free line at 1-855-700-2016.

Anderson says there has been great participation for the census so far this year.

"As of May 19th we had over 72% of the questionnaires completed already. 8.3 million of those were done over the internet and that was a total of 10 million plus census questionnaires. So, our target area will likely be about somewhere around 13 and a half million to 14 million."

It's the law that you fill out your census.

It's rare, but you could face a $500 fine, or spend three months in jail if it isn't completed
