Cheri Paskal, chair for the Winnipegosis skating club says that there could have been some misconception after a fire had burnt down their old arena.
But now with the new arena they decided to change the name of the club.
"Last April a group of us got together and we resurrected what was once known as the figure skating club to the actual skating club. So this year we are just taking baby steps and we are offering one program and that's CanSkate!"
The skating club does have a year end skating carnival coming up in a couple of weeks.
It's on March 20th at 2pm and the themes is called "Out Of This World."
