MacKenzie Middle School's new photography program just got a major boost from a local contractor.

Snow Spruce Construction LTD has donated $10,000 to buy photography equipment for the school.

President Adam Snow says they were happy to help the school out.

"We asked the school how we can help, and a photography course was mentioned that they wanted to get it started for the kids. We thought that would be a great way to show our appreciation, and help the kids grow with the community."

Snow is no stranger to knowing the joys of having brand new equipment to work with.

"We're carpenters, so we know what it's like to work with good equipment as opposed to poor equipment. We're excited that the kids will have the opportunity to start the course, get into photography, and get it right."
