The Parkland Crisis Center in Dauphin is now offering an Anger Solutions Program, this offers proven strategies for effectively resolving anger and taking control of your emotions. This program run's May 2nd to June 1st, every Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. It's a 5 week program open to women, with free childcare and light supper provided. Please register by calling 622-4626. 

The Dauphin Legion is proud to host BBQ fundraisers on the following Friday’s May 19, June 16, July 7, July 28, Aug 18, and Sept 8. They will start at 11am and go until 1:30. You are encouraged to come out and support this fundraiser event for the Dauphin Legion, and also some tasty BBQ. 

Tickets for Dauphin's Countryfest 2017, are now on sale. Purchase your tickets in person at the Countryfest Office in Dauphin, also by calling 1-800-361-7300. Countryfest will be held June 29th to July 2nd. The line up is loaded including Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Tim Hicks, Meghan Patrick, Johnny Reid, Doc Walker and more.

The 2017 Dauphin Kings Par 3 will take place at the Gilbert Plains Country Club just outside of Dauphin on Saturday June 10th. The tournament has been a sell out for a number of years and is a key fundraiser for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League club. The tournament gets underway at 9am. Register as a team for $600, or as an individual golfer for only $150. This entry entitles you to some great golfing, also great prizes and a steak supper. Season Tickets for the Dauphin Kings 50th Anniversary Campaign are on sale NOW! Adults are $199 until June 30, when the Early Bird Deadline passes. Student Season Tickets are $99 and a 30 game flex pack is $229. All Season Ticket holders will receive a special coupon book with their tickets during exhibition games in September. The Dauphin Food Bank is always in need of non perishable food items. Any and all donations are needed including canned soups, pasta sauce, dry pasta, canned meat and fish,dry cereal, oatmeal, brown beans. fruit juices, mac and cheese, canned fruit, and canned tomatoes. Please drop off your items at the collection bin at Safeway, or you can arrange for drop off at the food bank by calling 638-7853. Please check your food donations for best before and expiry dates before donating. 

The Dauphin and District Community Food Bank will be having intake days on the following Thursday's, May 11, May 25, June 8, June 22, July 6, July 20, Aug 3, Aug 17, and Aug 31, from 5pm to 8pm. For those grieving the death of a loved one by suicide Prairie Mountain Health presents Rediscover: Parkland Suicide Bereavement Support Group. Meetings are held the third Thursday of every month. The DRCSS in Dauphin is hosting their latest Drama Production called "The Wiz" with evening performances on now until Saturday April 29th, starting at 7pm. Tickets for each performance are available at the school office from 9 to 11 am and 12 to 12:30 pm and cost $12.

The public is invited to join the Dauphin and District Labour Committee in a march to observe the National Day of Mourning on Friday, April 28th. The march will begin at the MGEU building at 322 Main St. South at 12 pm. There will also be a memorial service at the City of Dauphin parking lot from 5 to 5:30 pm. The Zirka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble from Dauphin will host their Ukrainian Dance Competition in Dauphin at Credit Union Place, Friday April 28th and Saturday April 29th. Dance Groups from across the Prairie's will participate in the competition, different dances and different age categories will be represented. Event is 1pm to 9pm on Friday, and Saturday from 9am to 6pm, admission is $5 per day. Zirka will then be preforming during their Annual Recital on Sunday April 30th, with all of the dancers participating, recital will begin at 2pm, it's  silver collection at the door.

Dauphin Rec Services will host a Canadian Firearms Safety Course on Saturday April 29th at the Rotary Arena from 9am to 6pm. Cost is $70 per person, must be at least 12 years of age to participate. For more information please call 622-3112.

You are encouraged to support a Fundraising BBQ in front of Pet-Valu at the Dauphin Marketplace Mall on Saturday April 29 from 11 am to 3pm. All Proceeds from the BBQ will support Pet Appreciation Month! They have a goal of $6000 for the month of April. So far they have reached $6250. All donations will be divided between the Parkland Humane Society and the Crazy Cat Ladies Inc, both are local organizations dedicated to helping Animals in our community. 

The Sandy Lake Ukrainian Dance Ensemble presents their 40th Annual Spring Concert on Saturday, April 29th at 1pm at the Sandy Lake Community Hall. There will be a silver collection, raffle draw and a lunch following the concert. 

You are encouraged to support an upcoming Bake Sale Fundraiser at the Dauphin Marketplace Mall on Saturday April 29 from 11am to 4pm, for the Butterfly Foundation, Parental Alienation Support. This event also includes a silent auction, and 50/50 draw. 

Attend the 11th Annual community Market in Ethelbert on Saturday April 29, from 11am to 3pm at the Parish Hall. Admission is $2, 12 and under are free. 23 Vendors, lunch is available for sale, also a huge rainbow auction, and a silent auction as well. All proceeds will go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. 

The Dauphin Community Curling Club will host their Annual 10 Thousand Dollar Super Bingo Fundraiser on Saturday April 29th at the Parkland Rec Complex Curling Rink,doors open at 4:30, share the wealth at 5:30. Regular games start at 7:30. 

The Keystone Chorus Barbershoppers will be live in Concert in Dauphin at the Watson Art Center, on Saturday April 29th, with special guests. MAY EVENTS 

Brandon University is hosting a free return bus trip from Dauphin to Brandon for a simulcast special speaking engagement with Edward Snowden on Tuesday May 9th, he will be speaking on the topic of mass surveillance, there will also be a Q&A session following the presentation. The bus will leave Dauphin at 3pm, the speech begins at 6pm. The plan is to leave Brandon around 8:30 or 9pm. There is no charge for the bus, and there will be some refreshments provided.  The bus holds 48, people, so they are hoping to fill it.  If you would like to attend, please call 204-725-8745 or 622-2222

Al Gaines will welcome some special guests on Monday May 1st. Around 8:30 Stephen Chycota from the Dauphin Chamber of Commerce, along with Tom Barnett and Ryan Balak from Parkland Community Futures will be in studio to announce and launch a brand new Local Shopping Initiative and awareness campaign for Dauphin and surrounding communities.

Watch and Listen for CKDM's Al Gaines live on-location from McDonald's in Dauphin for the McHappy Day Fundraiser on Wednesday May 3rd. Purchase a Big Mac, Happy Meal or any hot McCafe beverage and a $1 from each will go towards Ronald McDonald House in Winnipeg and McKenzie Middle School in Dauphin, for their outdoor classroom. Several local families have benefited from Ronald McDondald House and will continue to benefit for years to come, with your support. 

Boxes of Love will host a School Supply Collection day at the Dauphin Marketplace Mall on Thursday May 4th, from 10am to 5pm. School supplies are needed and being collected in support of young displaced Children in orphanages in Ukraine. The City of Dauphin Spring Clean-up begins on Tuesday, May 23 in the Day 1 Area.  Once the Day 1 area is complete, crews will progress through the remainder of the 4 - day cycle. City crews will only be collecting compostable materials - accumulated garden waste, grass, leaves, shrubs and tree branches. Love & Persson (Peer-son) Group's Relay for Life Team (Love Relay) will be having a Fund Raiser BBQ to raise money for Relay for Life on Friday May 26 from 11am to 2pm across the street from their office in Grandview. Join CKDM Morning Guy, Al Gaines live on location from Tim Hortons Restaurant in Dauphin on Wednesday May 31 for Camp Day. This is the one day each year in which all the proceeds from coffee sales go towards sending a local kid to Camp.

You are encouraged to support the Annual Canadian Cancer Societies Relay for Life to be held at the Selo Site south of Dauphin on Friday June 2nd, from 7pm to 1am. Register for and participate in the Moose Knuckles Adventure Race in the Riding Mountain National Park on Saturday June 3rd, starting at 8am. This is a 10 hour adventure through the park including pack rafting, trekking and navigation with map and compass for teams of 2 to 4 people. Don't miss the Annual High Flying, High Stepping Square Dance Competition at the Dauphin Friendship Center on Saturday June 3rd, with several different groups participating from across Manitoba. Junior, Intermediate, Adult and Senior Groups will be represented. Cash prizes awarded for 1st to 3rd in each category. Registration is at 9:30, competition begins at 11:30am. The Dauphin Lions Club will host their Ten thousand dollar Super Bingo fundraiser, on Saturday June 3rd at the Parkland Rec Complex Curling Rink. Doors open at 4:30, share the wealth at 5:30! Regular games start at 7:30.  

The Rotary Club of Dauphin will host their Lobsterfest Kitchen Party on Saturday June 3rd at the Dauphin Fair Grounds, along with fresh lobster, there will be a pig roast and an east coast Kitchen Party with Tom Foolery. Tickets available from Rotary Members and select local businesses. 

The Lundar Fair returns Friday June 9 and Saturday June 10 at the Fair Grounds in Lundar! The Saturn Show Midway is back! Check out the annual ag shows, including the Fireworks,  Jackpot Heifer Show, a variety of horse classes, 4-H Beef Club Activities, beef cattle sales and shows, and more! Annual favourites are back, including the Miss Interlake Pageant, , Home Living Exhibits, and free entertainment at the grandstand! The 2017 Dauphin Kings Par 3 will take place at the Gilbert Plains Country Club just outside of Dauphin on Saturday June 10th. The tournament has been a sell out for a number of years and is a key fundraiser for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League club. The tournament gets underway at 9am. Register as a team for $600, or as an individual golfer for only $150. This entry entitles you to some great golfing, also great prizes and a steak supper. St. Paul's Home Auxiliary will host their Annual Strawberry Tea, Bake Sale and Crocus Auction on Saturday, June 10th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the The Dauphin Multipurpose Senior Center. Everyone is Welcome.
