The Dauphin and District Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Parkland Community Futures to announce ‘Shop It Forward”! This is an awareness campaign to encourage our community to shop local, when you shop locally, these businesses can give back to our local community to help local organizations in their fundraising.  If you or any family members use local community services or are part of a community group, you can be guaranteed local businesses have donated to this group. So please shop local whenever you can!

The Dauphin Legion is proud to host BBQ fundraisers on the following Friday’s  July 7, July 28, Aug 18, and Sept 8. They will start at 11am and go until 1:30. You are encouraged to come out and support this fundraiser event for the Dauphin Legion, and also some tasty BBQ. 

Bannock Burgers are back for the summer, so head to the Dauphin Friendship Centre each Friday until August 25th from 11:30 to 1pm in the front of the Friendship Centre, with proceeds going towards the summer camp programming.

Tickets for Dauphin's Countryfest 2017, are now on sale. Purchase your tickets in person at the Countryfest Office in Dauphin, also by calling 1-800-361-7300. Countryfest will be held June 29th to July 2nd. The line up is loaded including Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Tim Hicks, Meghan Patrick, Johnny Reid, Doc Walker and more.

You are encouraged to attend the 14th Annual Asham Stompers music and dance festival at Reedy Creek / Kinosota, Thursday August 31st to Sunday September 3rd. Only 60 minutes from DauphinIt's a weekend loaded with family fun featuring some great bands and some incredible dancing featuring the Asham Stompers, along with Canada's Got Talent Winners, Sagkeeng's Finest, and more! Dauphin Rec Services will host Toonie Swims at the Kinsmen Aquatic Center in Dauphin each Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm, throughout the summer until the end of July. This gives you access to the pool, hot tub and waterslide. 

Season Tickets for the Dauphin Kings 50th Anniversary Campaign are on sale NOW! Adults are $199 until July 7th, when the Early Bird Deadline passes. Student Season Tickets are $99 and a 30 game flex pack is $229. All Season Ticket holders will receive a special coupon book with their tickets during exhibition games in September. The coupon book is expected to have over $200 in savings and deals for fans. To order your tickets head down to the Kings Office at Credit Union Place or call 204-622-5461.

The Dauphin Food Bank is always in need of non perishable food items. Any and all donations are needed including canned soups, pasta sauce, dry pasta, canned meat and fish,dry cereal, oatmeal, brown beans. fruit juices, mac and cheese, canned fruit, and canned tomatoes. Please drop off your items at the collection bin at Safeway, or you can arrange for drop off at the food bank by calling 638-7853. Please check your food donations for best before and expiry dates before donating. 

The Dauphin and District Community Food Bank will be having intake days on the following Thursday's,  July 6, July 20, Aug 3, Aug 17, and Aug 31, from 5pm to 8pm. You must come in person and bring your Manitoba Health card. For more information call 638-7853, and leave a message. 

The Fort Dauphin Museum is now taking registrations for their Summer Kids Camps from July 4th-7th and July 18th - 21st! It is $50 for the week or $15/day. Thursday BBQ's are back at the Fort Dauphin Museum from 11-2pm on June 22nd, & June 29th, July 13th, and 27th, August 10th, 17th, 24th, and August 31st.

The Dauphin Friendship Centre is now taking Registration for their Summer Camp program which runs Monday thru Friday, 8:15 am to 2.30pm from July 4th til August 23rd.  The camp is free for children aged 6-12, and kids can be registered for up to 3 weeks of camp. Registration forms are available for pick up a the front desk of the Friendship Centre. JULY EVENTS 

The Gilbert Plains Golf and Country Club will host their Men's Open on Saturday July 8th, at 10am, only $80 entry fee! Also don't forget about the 4 person Celebrity Texas Scramble Golf Tournament  on Saturday July 15, it's a 9am start.  $400 for a team of 4. Ethelbert Curling Club will host a pancake breakfast at the Ethelbert Curling Rink, on Canada Day, Saturday July 1st, 8am to 11:00 a.mAdults $7.00, Kids 12 to 6 $5.00. Free for kids 5 & under. Also enjoy kids activities from 1pm to 3pm, community market from 1 to 5p, pig scramble at 3, kids bike parade at 5, baseball tournament at 5:30, and fireworks at 10:30 at the Ethelbert park grounds.

The Royal Canadian Legion #20 in Dauphin will be open on Canada Day from 10am to 2pm, come watch the parade and enjoy refreshments after.

Uptown Pet Clinic in Dauphin is having a dog party on Saturday July 1st, after the fair parade. There will be free bandanas and treat bags for the dogs as well as some doggy games. Everyone is welcome. Stop by the parking lot beside the Uptown Pet Clinic.

Take in Canada Day events in Clear Lake on Saturday July 1st, starting at 11am with the Citizenship Ceremony, followed by giant birthday cake, and entertainment throughout the day for both the adults and kids, fireworks will wrap up the days events at dusk. 

Participate in the Canada 150 Canada Day Celebrations at Credit Union Place in Dauphin on Saturday July 1st, from 11am to 2pm. Come out and support the Manitoba Youth Job Center Odd job Squad, and get cookies, face painting, free tattoos, and more. $1 a cookie, and $2 for face painting. For more info call 648-6909. 

The Winnipegosis Historical Society will be holding a Canada Day & 150 Celebration on Saturday July 1st from 12noon to 3pm at the Winnipegosis Museum. Hot-Dog & Pop Sale, Free Cupcakes, Kids Activities and prizes awarded for the Best Decorated Hats. More Info: Call Pauline Riley 204 656 4273. 

Enjoy Canada Day events in Rorketon on Saturday July 1st, with Bouncy Castles, BBQ lunch, beer gardens, obstacle course, dunk tank, face painting, supper Ukrainian Dancers, open mic, and fireworks. Events start at 12noon and continue throughout the day.

Celebrate Canada Day in Duck Bay on Saturday July 1st, starting at 12:45, with the opening ceremonies, followed the community parade, horseshoe tournament, kids games, community BBQ and cake, races, and dry dance. Also enjoy the fireworks to wrap up the day's events

The Ste. Rose Grotto Restoration and Park Committee is hosting Canada's 150th Birthday Celebration @Grotto Park, 2pm, on Saturday July 1st.  Winners of "Fun and Fitness walk" will be announced followed by a draw for the "Kiddi Kar", with face decals, Canada flags and balloons.  Cupcakes and refreshments following. Bring your own lawn chairs. 

Enjoy Canada Day events in McCreary, on Saturday July 1st, starting with the Fitness Center fun run, from 4pm to 7pm at Fletcher Park, then at 7:30 enjoy live music from the Cameron Campbell Band, free hot dogs, cake and ice cream, with a silver collection and 50/50 with prizes, fireworks will wrap up the events at dusk. 

Take in Canada's 150 Family Street Dance in Gilbert Plains on Saturday July 1st, from 5pm to 11pm. Enjoy the BBQ supper, kids participation 150 games, kids carnival games, beer gardens, street dance and more. 

Enjoy Canada Day events in Laurier on Saturday July 1st, starting at 5pm with a BBQ and canteen, at 5:30 its kids games and activities, entertainment at 7pm features Aces high, at 8:30 it's Al Simmons, Aces High return at 9:15, and fireworks  at duskncy Castles, BBQ lunch, beer gardens, obstacle course, dunk tank, face painting, supper, Ukrainian Dancers, open mic, and fireworks. Events start at 12noon and continue throughout the day. 

Attend a Divine Liturgy and Praznyk at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Keld on Sunday July 2nd, starting at 11:15am, water blessing, cemetery service and dinner to follow. Everyone is welcome. 

Winnipegosis invites you to their golf, sudz, spud & steak night on Friday July 7th to be held on the Boulevard, under the tent, from 6p-8p.  With the purchase of a supper ticket, you can golf for free. Children are welcome & there is a kid's menu of a hotdog & drink for $5.  Tickets are $20 and will only be available until July 3rd by calling Charlene 656-4737 or for pick up at Foxy's Gas Bar.

The Ebb & Flow Lakers of the Santa Clara Senior Baseball League will host Minnedosa in Ste.Rose on Wednesday July 5, game time is 7pm. All are invited to come out and watch.

The Dauphin Legion on Main Street is proud to host a BBQ fundraiser on the Friday July 7,  from 11am to 1:30. You are encouraged to come out and support this fundraiser event for the Dauphin Legion, and also some tasty BBQ. In celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion, they will also be serving complimentary cake and coffee in the clubroom. 

Rorketon/Toutes Aides Knights of Columbus St. Lawrence Council #7071 are hosting a Pancake Breakfast on July 9,from 10:00 am - 1 pm at the Meadow Portage Hall. Adults $7.00, children $3.00 Under 6 free.  50/50 Draw, silent auction. Proceeds to Knights of Columbus Wheel Chair Program.

It's a lunch hour celebration starting at 11:30am with the grand opening of CN Park, along with a stop over with the Manitoba Hydro Torch Relay for the 2017 Canada Summer Games, there will also be a CN Tree Dedication, at 12noon free BBQ for the first 250 in attendance, along with free cake, watermelon and coffee, also entertainment and giveaways as well.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds take to the skies for the 25th Anniversary Shoal Lake Airshow, Tuesday July 11 and Wednesday July 12 at the Shoal Lake Communiplex and the Shoal Lake Regional Airport! The Shoal Lake Airshow is two days of aircraft and car displays, music, food, children’s activities, and lots more, and of course--the Snowbirds! Don't miss the Annual Gilbert Plains - Grandview Ag Society Fair and Rodeo Weekend, Friday July 21st to Sunday July 23rd. The Parkland Horseman's Association will host their Annual Chuckwagon and Chariot's Racing weekend in Ste.Rose at the PHA Race Track, Friday July 28 to Sunday July 30. Weekend passes and day passes will be available at the gate prior to the races. $25 for weekend pass, day pass is $10. Friday Chuckwagons go at 7pm, on Saturday kids activities at 1pm, 2pm its the D-Town Steppers, Chariot Racing is at 3, calcutta at 4, Chuckwagons at 6, the Cameron Campbell Band at 8pm. On Sunday kids activities at 11am, 1pm it Chariots and 3pm Chuckwagons. Also concession on site, beer gardens, petting zoo, and much more.

AUGUST EVENTS

This is a great way to kick of the Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival Long Weekend.

Celebrate Welcome Home Reunion Weekend in Ochre River, Friday August 4th to Sunday August 6th. There will be a variety of events and activities to celebrate this local homecoming. Check out the Ochre River Reunion 2017 facebook page for more info. 

Canadian Wrestling Elite Returns to Dauphin on Friday August 4th, at the Dauphin Friendship Center, doors open at 6pm with a meet and greet, bell time is 7pm. Get a meet and greet package with show admission for $22. Regular advance admission is $17 in advance, or $20 at the door for adults. Kids 12 and under $12 in advance, or $15 at the door.

Don't miss the Annual Ashern Rodeo, September Long weekend, Sept 1st to 3rd! Enjoy all of your rodeo events again this year along several community sponsored events as well, this year the Rodeo Committee has team up with the Ashern Chamber of Commerce and Ashern Pioneer Museum to host several events throughout the weekend, keep listening to CKDM as we will announce the events and CKDM will once again broadcast live from Ashern Friday Morning. 

The Dauphin Ag Heritage Club will host their Threshing Day on Saturday September 2nd, 1.5 miles north of Dauphin on Highway #362. Watch the threshing crew bring the nearly century old machinery come alive. There is binding, stooking, chore horse competition, kids play area, and much more. Register for and participate in the Annual Riding Mountain Challenge Bike Tour Fundraiser from Dauphin to Clear Lake and back on Saturday September 9th and Sunday September 10th. Cyclists leave from Dauphin to Clear Lake early Saturday morning, arriving back to Dauphin on Sunday. This is fundraiser in support of MS. This is a scenic bike trip through the Riding Mountain National Park. 

Kelleher Ford Sales Dauphin will bring the Drive One For UR School fundraiser to the Onanole School on Saturday September 9th, come out and test drive some brand new Ford Vehicles, and Ford will donate $20 to Onanole School to help in their fundraising efforts.
