TTA CANADA RELEASING DEBUT PROJECT FROM HEATHER LONGSTAFFE

The Talent Associates, a cross-border management and marketing company, announces plans to release new music from Winnipeg-born singer/songwriter Heather Longstaffe. This marks the first time TTA will bring music directly to radio and the fans.

"This is exciting for us," said company founder and President John Ettinger. "We established TTA as a force to help great music get heard, and Heather is the perfect singer to establish this new side of our work."

TTA will ship Longstaffe’s debut single “Rooftops” to Canadian country stations ASAP. The song, an explosive celebration of love, was written by Heather with Vancouver-based writer/producer Dan Swinimer.

Longstaffe is acclaimed as a powerful vocalist and a highly sought-after writer for many of Canada's hottest artists. She was the opening act on the just-completed Emerson Drive Tilt-A-Whirl tour, and was the grand-prize winner of the Radio Star National Songwriting competition. Her EP Slingshot, set for release this Summer, features five new songs written by Longstaffe, and they present an artist with an obvious and exciting path ahead — through Canada and beyond.

"On stage is where I belong," says Longstaffe. "We all want this music to bring me and my band on stage and in front of a new bunch of friends across Canada."  Some of you may remember Heather from her lively and exciting performances during the 730 CKDM Countryfest Talent Contest a number of years ago.

TTA has established a unique and powerful brand the past five years in North America. Ettinger, former head of promotion at Mercury Records (Shania Twain, Terri Clark, Sugarland) and the Disney-owned Carolwood label, founded the company as management for award-winning group Emerson Drive. TTA now serves in the same function for Tebey (along with Jill Snell and RoadAngel), Alissa Griffith, Jordan Dean, and Longstaffe. As a radio service team, led by Ryan Barnstead, the VP of Promotion and Artist Development, TTA brought BlackJack Billy to radio in the US and Canada, and they function in a similar role for Sugarland founder Kristian Bush, and team with various Canadian artists in bringing their music to the United States.

For the past nine months, TTA has represented the roster for Open Road Recordings to Canadian radio, bringing CanCon chart-topping singles to Dean Brody and High Valley (2), and Top 10 and Top 20 hits to Tim Hicks and Doc Walker

"They are terrific people and smart record men," said Open Road CEO Ron Kitchener. “I'm excited to see the great things they can do with Heather and beyond."

Southern-influenced rockers, The Proud Sons are set to take the stage at Winnipeg’s Park Theatre, Thursday, January 15 with special guests Kevin Roy, and The Honour.

The Proud Sons are one of Winnipeg’s hardest working bands. The Sons have spent the better part of 2014 gigging tirelessly around the province and opened for Hedley in the spring to a sold out MTS Centre. The band has been writing and recording from Winnipeg to Memphis, Nashville and back.  Next month, The Sons head west to wrap production on their first full-length record with producer Tommy Mac of Hedley.

In the spring the boys will tour the new record, which will include a stop in Toronto for Canadian Music Week (CMW).

Don’t miss your chance to hear the new music first!

About The Proud Sons:

The Proud Sons are Ryan McConnel on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Kyle Meyer on lead guitar, Jesse Lee Meyer on bass, Jay Stanley on acoustic guitar and Jay Mymryk on drums.

There aren't many southern-influenced rock and roll bands around these days. Hell, there aren't a lot of rock bands, period. In a time where kids seem to prefer popping pills from strangers and listening to glowstick music made by pressing the spacebar on a Macbook, The Proud Sons prefer the take the road less-traveled. Music made by five humans, with feeling - not a computerized thump.

The Sons will be heading out to Vancouver in the winter of 2015 to wrap production on their brand new record with producer Tommy Mac of Hedley.

ABOUT THE ALBUM:

The album was recorded here in Winnipeg at Private Ear Studios with the great Grant Siemens in the production chair.  Grant is known well for his

12 years of playing guitar with Corb Lund, but we at home know him as one of the most talented and coolest guys in the universe. The ever chilled and skilled Scott Franchuk from Riverdale Recorders in Edmonton was flown in to engineer and mix the album. Scott Pinder from Polyphonics Lab mastered the album.

Something from the press release:

"Together with producer Grant Siemens, Mayes approached the album from a very raw and real perspective.  'His impeccable sentimentalities really brought the groove and the flow to the album,' says Mayes. 'There was so much respect, trust, and commitment to the end result that we worked together flawlessly.  His confidence in me as a songwriter and a singer brought out my best, and pushed me to a higher level of writing and performance.' Joined in the studio by Damon Mitchell (The New Meanies, Nathan), Alexa Dirks (Chic Gamine), Bernie Thiessen (Big Dave McLean, Righteous Ike), Marc Arnould and Joanne Rodriguez, the result brings a new jolt to Mayes' already powerful sound."
